Speech that fits your family's rhythm

As a mom of four across the board (13, 10, 5, and 15 months) I understand that it can be almost impossible to fit it all in.  At Point Speech Pathology, we don't ever let our caseloads get overwhelming, so we can make sure we are our best selves for our kids- and yours, too!

We come to you!  Local libraries,

co-op locations, and even remote options available.  Choose the best fit for your family!

Early intervention is especially important in the homeschool environment because speech and language difficulties can affect other areas of learning, such as reading and writing. The personalized nature of homeschooling allows parents to closely observe their child’s communication abilities and spot any red flags early on.

One of the biggest benefits of addressing speech challenges in a homeschooling environment is the ability to collaborate to enhance both the educational and therapeutic approach. Since homeschooling allows for one-on-one attention, parents can closely monitor progress, provide immediate feedback, and reinforce speech therapy exercises throughout the day. â€‹

A speech-language pathologist plays a critical role in identifying, assessing, and addressing speech and language concerns in children. Speech therapists are trained to diagnose various communication disorders, including articulation, language delays, fluency problems like stuttering, and social communication challenges.

After a thorough evaluation, the speech language pathologist will create a treatment plan that addresses your child’s individual needs. For homeschooling families, the speech therapist’s expertise is invaluable in guiding you through appropriate intervention strategies and providing structured therapy sessions that can be integrated into your child's education and homeschooling routine.

In Person speech therapy-

This is the traditional approach and is tried and true!  During a speech therapy session your child will work on targeted goals to help any areas identified as weaknesses on their evaluation.  Typically we will play a game or make a craft, so it never feels like "work".  After the session you will be provided with a summary of the session and follow up activities to work on for carryover at home.  We have seen many homeschooling families at their local library  and/or co-op locations so that the rest of the family members can make use of the time!

Remote speech therapy-

Remote speech therapy offers numerous advantages for homeschooling families. Online speech therapy sessions provide the same high-quality, personalized interventions as in-person therapy but with the added convenience of receiving speech treatment from home.

The flexibility of virtual speech therapy makes it an ideal option for homeschoolers. Sessions can be scheduled at times that best fit your family’s routine, and treatment can easily be integrated into the day without disrupting other subjects or activities.
